Dr. Curtis Hayes is a board-certified oral surgeon in Lafayette, Colorado. After completing a Bachelors of Science degree in biochemistry at the United States Air Force Academy, Dr. Hayes attended the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. He graduated magna cum laude in 2003 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS). Most recently, Dr. Hayes became an International Best Selling author with a book he co-authored, Million Dollar Smile; Dr. Hayes wrote the chapter on digital dentistry.
After graduation, Dr. Hayes served as a general dentist at Lackland AFB in Texas. Recognizing where his skills and interests lay, he chose to continue his education and specialize in oral surgery, which he did at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. He then went on to serve as the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ramstein AFB in Germany, providing exceptional surgical care to wounded service members coming out of Africa and the Middle East. In 2013, the US Air Force named Dr. Hayes the US US Air Force Dentist of the Year
Dr. Hayes is a skilled educator and has contributed to peer-reviewed journals. He has also served twice as the Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program.
Dr. Hayes is a member of the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the American and Colorado Dental Associations. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Hayes believes deeply in service to the community and providing assistance to underserved populations around the world. He has participated locally for more than twenty years as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of a America and has donated his considerable surgical talents on missions to the Peruvian Amazon Basin and South Africa. He also volunteers his time as a clinical instructor at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine as a way of giving back to the dental community and investing in the future of the profession.
He and his wife Lynn have four children and have also been foster parents. When Dr. Hayes is not providing care to his patients, he is an avid athlete and might be found on his bike, participating in a triathlon, or picking up a game of tennis.
Alisa comes to our practice with over 25 years of experience. A focused team player, she excels at patient education and enjoys working with patients to make sure their needs are met in a caring and comfortable environment.
Alisa was born and raised in Colorado. She married her high school sweetheart, Jason, and they have two children. Her grown son owns his own business, and her daughter will soon be starting college.
Outside of the office, Alisa enjoys family time, travel, and reading as well as both coaching and playing competitive softball.
Our surgical assistant, Ashley, brings 4 years of surgical experience with her to our practice. Ashley earned her Certified Dental Assistant Certificate at The First Institute in Illinois. Ashley is certified in DANNCE (The Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) CPR/BLS and is an Instructor of CPR/BLS to our Dental community. She is certified in HIPPA privacy law and OSHA compliance, along with Radiology.
Ashley loves working in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery because its forever evolving. The challenge of learning the newest and innovative procedures is what drives her to stay on top of her dental knowledge and expanding her skills. Working in Oral Surgery has given Ashley a way to help in her community and educate people that do not have the necessary resources to have the smile that they deserve.
Born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Ashley recently moved to Colorado to embark on a new journey. When she’s not at work Ashley loves to spend her time with her dogs, friends and family while exploring her new home here in Colorado.
Katie is a Colorado native, born and raised in Longmont. She is a graduate of Skyline High School, attended FRCC and Dental Assistant Training Academy in Niwot before planting her feet in the field of dentistry. For 20 years she has enjoyed a career in general dentistry before deciding to make the exciting transition over to specialized services in oral surgery with Coal Creek OMS!
In her leisure time she enjoys the Colorado mountains, golf, bowling, paddle boarding, fishing, and spending as much time as possible with her daughter, family and friends!
Trisha has been with Coal Creek Oral Surgery since January 2019 as a surgical assistant. She comes with 5 years oral surgery experience and 6+ years’ experience in general dentistry as an EDDA (Expanded Duties Dental Assistant). She was born in Southern California and raised in Colorado and considers herself to be a Colorado native. Trisha is DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification), BLS (Basic Life Support) IV Certified, along with radiology. She is HIPPA privacy law and OSHA compliance.
She believes the best part of her job is being able to help others, make them feel comfortable, safe and cared for when they come into our office. She also loves experiencing the variety of procedures done in our office and being a proactive team player. Her hobbies include hiking, biking, working out, weekend getaways to the mountains, going on adventures and building memories with her 10 year old son. She loves doing obstacle races and 14ers and embracing everything this beautiful state has to offer.
Olivia grew up in Northern California but decided to call Colorado home 10 years ago. She has been in dentistry for 22 years and enjoys talking with and helping patients as much as she can. She and her husband currently reside in Erie with their two daughters. When she’s not at work Olivia loves spending time entertaining friends and hiking and enjoying the beautiful mountains here in Colorado.
